ImageI'm a Muslim. I happen to be a woman. I'm a British Sufi - from the publicly-under-represented Sufi brand of Islam which outnumbers Wahhabis, Deobandis and other Muslim sects in Britain by five to one. I see these other sects as hegemonistic and blinkered - misled Muslims who have lost their way and are letting the side down in a shockingly bad way. Sufis are taught to be altruistic, focus on spirituality and work hard - we, above all Muslims, contribute a great deal to British society and the British economy, and we're proud of it. In no way are we represented by Islamist groups like the Muslim Council of Britain, who look down on Sufis and work slyly to fulfil the goals not of the British Muslim majority but hegemonistic Islamists (in the MCB's case, Jamaat e Islaami).

For some time I've wanted to ram the words of so-called Muslim extremists back down their throats - men and women included. Their blinkered approach beggars belief. How can they accuse the West - while living off state benefits and the fat of the land - of being morally bankrupt?
The recent case of the 19 year old girl in Saudi Arabia who was gang raped fourteen times then sentenced to 90 lashes (only freed after Western pressure on the House of Saud after her sentence was increased to 200 lashes and six months in jail) is symptomatic of the moral bankruptcy of so-called Muslim lands.

Or take the case of Atefah Sahaaleh who, on the 15 August, 2004, was hanged in a public square in the Iranian city of Neka. Her death sentence was imposed for "crimes against chastity". At the time, the state-run newspaper accused her of adultery and described her as 22 years old. But she was not married - and she was just 16. In a town like Neka, under the close control of religious authorities, Atefah - often seen drifting around on her own - was noticeable. She soon came to the attention of the "moral police", a branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, whose role it is to enforce the Islamic code of behaviour on Iran's streets.

There is no court transcript available from Atefah's trial, but it is known that for the first time, Atefah confessed to the secret of her sexual abuse by Ali Darabi, a former revolutionary guard. A married man with children, 51-year-old Ali Darabi raped her several times. Rape is very hard to prove in an Iranian court where a man's word is accepted much more easily than a woman's. When Atefah realised her case was doomed to failure, she screamed at the judge and threw her veil to the floor in protest. This proved a fatal outburst. She was sentenced to execution by hanging, while Darabi received only 95 lashes. A short while before the execution, unbeknown to her family, documents that went to the Iranian Supreme Court of Appeal described Atefah as being 22 years of age, qualifying her for the death penalty. Neither the judge nor even Atefah's court-appointed lawyer did anything to discover her correct age. The judge merely looked at her and declared she was 22. Judge Haji Rezai took Atefah's documents to the Supreme Court himself. And at six o'clock on the morning of her execution he personally put the noose around her neck, before she was hoisted on a crane to her death (hanging by crane lasts longer than other forms of hanging).
Since the Iranian revolution, Shariah law has been Iran's highest legal authority. The human rights organisation Amnesty International says it is concerned that executions are becoming more common again under President Mahmoud Ahmedinajad, who advocates a return to the pure values of the revolution.

Recently I was researching the British website Islambase and several affiliated sites, where British-based Islamist extremists hang out and create this false anti Western bubble in the style of a Hizb ut Tahrir or Al Muhajiroun. The first thing which shocked me was the number of women posting on the site. Many of these sites have current affairs sections, which are dominated by stories of the decadent and corrupt West, glorification of Islamist terrorism and by stories of Western oppression in Muslim lands.

Islambase has its own separate non-believer news section "exposing Kuffar and their ways" - cataloguing paedophile crimes, abuse of grannies, and crimes derived from alcohol abuse, all occurring in Britain or America. This section boasts headlines such as "UK has 5,000 child prostitutes" and "Morning after pill for 12 year olds" - replies to Kuffar posts include "Animals that follow their own perverted lusts. Everything is free from them and their actions". The section is designed to paint the west in a terrible light as if these sorts of horrors do not occur in Muslim lands and would never occur in an Islamist state.

Islambase's propaganda continues in its Global News and Discussions forums, with reports of Mujahideen successes and enemy accidents particularly popular in terms of replies to posts. For example, November 9th 2007's post "6 dead in US Army chopper crash in Italy" gets a "Allahu Akbar" response from the Islambase administrator, while the death in hospital of failed Glasgow suicide bomber Kafeel Ahmed is met with "Allahu Akbar", "Ameen" and "May Allah accept him as shaheed". Islambase's YouTube section is made up of carefully composed propaganda videos with self-explanatory titles such as "SECULARISM - secularism is one of the diseases of the Ummah today", "The Two Camps", "The Problem with Integration" and a particularly worrying video entitled "The False pleasures of this world" which would make a perfect final viewing for a would-be suicide bomber.

The website Mituk (Muslims in the UK) is also laden with propaganda including one striking article about Britain entitled "Nation built upon lies" explaining that "from the very onset, children in Western societies are taught lies as part of their upbringing, constantly being fed with them, bringing them up on false ideas and customs. The biggest lie of all is Christmas and the fallacy of Santa Claus. This type of upbringing will only naturally produce the personality of a liar, a person who sees no harm in telling lies or in others creating them. It comes as no surprise then to learn that societies in the West are full of lies and liars to the extent whereby it has become a way of life. Similarly, politics is full of lies, cheating and scandalous affairs for the purpose of gaining support or to defame others. These are the ruling elite of the country who are educated individuals assigned to look after the affairs of society, and yet it is an accepted fact that they lie, cheat and deceive. It comes as no surprise then to hear how the likes of Tony Blair and George Bush lied to the world about the weapons of mass destruction to justify their onslaught against Muslims in Iraq, for they are products of a society based upon lies and fabrications. How they have lied continuously, trying to cover up their true intentions regarding the mass killing of Muslim men women and children in Iraq and Afghanistan, the killing of their own soldiers in these countries, their torture and abuse of Muslims in their custody, the use of toxins and chemicals in their weaponry, the torture of Muslims using secret prisons, the failure of their intelligence, their failure in Iraq and Afghanistan...the list goes on, and yet these governments continue to lie to their people and the rest of the world." The article abruptly concludes, "The Islamic personality is one that is honourable and dignifying, which encourages Muslims to speak the truth, and this is why the true Muslim is the one who will not only refrain from lying, but will ensure that the truth is conveyed and established all around him."

The website United Ummah strikes a similarly propagandistic tone in an article entitled, "Western Values are Perverted values". The article states, "A brief glimpse at any western society, like the USA and UK, run on values of freedom, secularism and democracy, will reveal a complete breakdown in the social and moral fabric with homosexuality, pedophilia, adultery, promiscuity, fornication, pornography and abortion rampant, not forgetting all the sexually transmitted diseases that come hand in hand with such liberalism. An overview of the economic infrastructure will show extreme divisions between the poor and the rich oligarchy, a majority of the wealth in the hands of a few individuals and massive investment in useless exploits and so-called ‘industries' which only bring degradation, misery and destruction day by day such as alcohol, lottery, pornography, cosmetics, fashion and sports. Try to put this wretched system next to the beauty and perfection of the Islamic ideology and there really can be no comparison." The article concludes, "Without any State exclusively implementing the Sharia today, it is no wonder that Muslims and Islamic activists are struggling everywhere to once again establish the Khilafah. Considering that the existence of the Khilafah will mean the absence of all man made law under its authority and a foreign policy to annex other land to it, it is no wonder that the Western regimes, keen on globalization, have labeled all those who want the Sharia as a law and order, like the Taliban, ‘Terrorists'. With an Islamic State a credible possibility in many countries today including Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Indonesia, Nigeria, Yemen and Malaysia it is therefore no wonder that the likes of Blair, Bush and their cronies are so keen to pass off their rotten Western values as universal..."

The fact is that there's plenty of evil all round the world. The only difference between the West and Muslim lands is that the West tends to wash its dirty laundry in public. If anyone believes that Saudi Arabia's strict rules about homosexuality stop homosexuals from practising they must think again. Nor Indonesia's rules about paedophilia - they don't stop JI leaders from passing around small girls and boys for the purpose of sexual gratification. And as for the Taliban - those who the Islambase contributors look up to - Taliban warlords have been known in the past to declare war over the love of young boys.

If the Caliphate - the great goal of the extreme Islamists - were to ever come about, then fear for child abuse victims, rape victims, child brides and other victims of a society dominated by men who just need to claim that they were talking to God when they committed their crimes.

Hamza from Islambase - still not convinced? Then let me end with a quote from a fatwa by the late Ayatollah Khomeini of Iran:

"A man can marry a girl younger than nine years of age, even if the girl is still a baby being breastfed. A man, however is prohibited from having intercourse with a girl younger than nine, other sexual acts such as foreplay, rubbing, kissing and sodomy is allowed. A man having intercourse with a girl younger than nine years of age has not committed a crime, but only an infraction, if the girl is not permanently damaged. If the girl, however, is permanently damaged, the man must provide for her all her life. But this girl will not count as one of the man's four permanent wives. He also is not permitted to marry the girl's sister."

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it. He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it." (Martin Luther King).

Morality Lost?

Imagine looking across the breakfast table at your wife and kids knowing that the corn flakes and orange juice consumed by them are dripping with the blood of innocents because you bought them with your terror-funding wages. Another Flea off the Coat

A fugitive British militant linked to an alleged UK plot to use liquid bombs to blow up transatlantic airliners has been killed in Pakistan, reports say. Pakistani media said Rashid Rauf, born in Birmingham, was killed in a US air strike in North Waziristan, a haven for militants and the Taleban. Mr Rauf, on the run after escaping from a Pakistani jail, was alleged to have helped the group planning the attacks. Three men were convicted in the...

Al-Qaeda message condemns Obama

The second-in-command of Islamic militant network al-Qaeda has hit out at US President-elect Barack Obama. In a message purportedly from Ayman al-Zawahiri, the al-Qaeda deputy called Mr Obama a "house negro" - a demeaning term implying he served white people. Mr Obama's plan to bolster the US military presence in Afghanistan would fail, Zawahiri said. If genuine, the message would be the first acknowledgement by al-Qaeda of the president-elect's victory. The audio message appeared on militant websites. Zawahiri,...

Obamanomics

Obama's economic plan is a recipe for long-lasting disaster. Keep in mind that wrecking anything, as opposed to building things, requires very little time and effort. Obama's plan is deceptively attractive, while in reality it is a huge wrecking ball that will capsize the already listing ship of our economy. Here is a partial list of reasons why. Judge for yourself. Obama is proposing a trillion dollars in new spending. Where is he going to get the money,...

Just Criminal?

The recent British Government trend to not refer to "Islamic terrorism" or "Islamist terrorism" - instead referring merely to "criminals" and "criminal acts" - is either supremely clever or depressingly thoughtless depending upon the premise they started from. Islamist terrorism - a tidier phrase than Islamic terrorism - neatly describes the criminal act of terrorism carried out by Muslims with a political bent. With this phrase, there is no need for the epithet "extreme" before Islamist (meaning...

Saudi cleric favours one-eye veil

A Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye. Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan said showing both eyes encouraged women to use eye make-up to look seductive. The question of how much of her face a woman should cover is a controversial topic in many Muslim societies. The niqab is more common in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, but women in much of the Muslim Middle East wear a headscarf...

King Never Asked…

CNN's king of the talk-show hosts and the icon of one of the major television networks, Larry King, hosted an interview on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 with the devil himself.  Many Iranians felt completely betrayed by Mr. King's line of questioning. They felt that Mr. King was missing key questions. I am not advocating a hostile interview here, but how could Mr. King allow Ahmadinejad to easily dance away. It seemed he was deliberately making Ahmadinejad...
