Karuna leaves UKA Tamil paramilitary leader jailed for entering Britain on a fraudulent diplomatic passport and subsequently investigated by the Metropolitan police for alleged war crimes has left Britain.

Colonel Karuna Amman returned to Sri Lanka on Thursday. It is not clear whether he was deported or opted for voluntary repatriation after withdrawing an application for asylum.

Amman's breakaway Tamil paramilitary group, the TVMP, which now supports the Colombo government, has been accused of abducting teenagers, forcing them to serve as child soldiers. Karuna entered the UK on a forged diplomatic passport. He was arrested in a police raid in London last summer. During his trial for immigration offences in January it was said that the diplomatic passport and UK visa were supplied to him by Sri Lanka's defence minister. The country's high commission in London denied the allegation.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch condemned the government for failing to bring war crimes charges. Brad Adams, Asia director at Human Rights Watch in London, said: "This was a rare opportunity to hold a leader of the Tamil Tigers accountable for horrific human rights abuses, and the British government blew it."

In response to a freedom of information request by the Guardian the Crown Prosecution Service said that there was no "realistic prospect" of a conviction against Col Karuna "based on the evidence that has been submitted to the CPS". Karuna's wife and children live in the UK.

Press releaseThis is a copy of the Centre for Social Cohesion's press release concerning the Scottish Islamic Foundation, which is due to launch this Thursday:

On Thursday 26 June 2008, a new Muslim group called the Scottish Islamic Foundation will be launched in Edinburgh in the presence of Alex Salmond, Scotland's First Minister. The leading members of the group, together with many of those who lead its events are closely linked to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Muslim Brotherhood is an Islamist movement with regional branches which aims to re-create the global Caliphate. The Brotherhood's motto is: "Allah is our objective. The Prophet is our leader. The Qur'an is our law. Jihad is our way. Dying in the way of Allah is our highest hope."

In 2007, Mehdi Akef, the leader of the Brotherhood in Egypt said that neither women nor Christians could become president of Egypt under an Islamic state, saying: "It is the Muslim Brotherhood's opinion that a woman cannot be president." He added: "How can a Christian president protect the religion of Islam?" In 2004, he said that "I have complete faith that Islam will invade Europe and America, because Islam has logic and a mission." In December 2005, Akef described the Holocaust as a "myth".

Osama Saeed is the chief executive of the Scottish Islamic Foundation (SIF) and is the group's most high-profile member. He has worked as a researcher for Alex Salmond and has been selected as the SNP's candidate for Glasgow Central for the next general elections. Saeed first came to prominence as a spokesman for the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), the British version of the Muslim Brotherhood with whom he became active after 9-11. By 2003, he was encouraging Muslims on behalf of MAB to vote along religious lines, urging them to vote against Labour and in favour of the SNP, telling the Evening Times in an article published on 30 April 2003: "What we are urging people to do is what is in the best interests of the Muslim community."

danceThe Feminist Fawcett Society is urging all MPs to support a 10 Minute Rule Bill being introduced today by Roberta Blackman-Woods MP calling for lapdance clubs to be licensed as Sex Encounter Establishments across Britain.

The extremist Fawcett Society argues, "While the UK's first lapdance club opened in 1995, an inadequate licensing regime has enabled the number of lapdance clubs to rise steeply to at least 300. Under the 2003 Licensing Act lapdance clubs are licensed in the same way as any ordinary pub or karaoke night - with a Premises License.  This licensing regime is wholly inadequate."

These feminist extremists argue:

  • Lapdance clubs are part of the commercial sex industry, not the ordinary leisure industry
  • Lapdance clubs normalise the sexual objectification of women and are counter to efforts to promote gender equality. Areas surrounding lapdance clubs can become ‘no-go' areas for women
  • Local authorities are prevented from applying vital restrictions and regulations to lapdance clubs
  • Local people are denied a say about proposed or existing lapdance clubs in their areas

The Fawcett Society, and Roberta Blackman-Woods' 10 Minute Rule Bill, are calling for local authorities to have greater powers to regulate lapdance clubs by licensing them as Sex Encounter Establishments - as sex shops and sex cinemas are currently licensed.

Dr Katherine Rake, Director of the Fawcett Society, said: "Current licensing of lapdance clubs is woefully inadequate. Lapdance clubs are counter to efforts to promote gender equality. They make it normal to treat women as sex objects and are degrading to all women. The 2003 Licensing Act ties the hands of local authorities and prevents them fulfilling their responsibilities under the Gender Equality Duty. There is a very simple solution. The Government should utilise existing legislation and license lapdance clubs as Sex Encounter Establishments. This would give power back to local authorities and local communities so that they can make the decisions about lapdance clubs in their areas. Roberta Blackman-Woods' 10 Minute Rule Bill is an important first step in driving forward reforms to lapdance clubs licensing. We urge all MPs to support the Bill and give local communities a voice."

Scraping the Barrel PDF Print E-mail

Scraping the barrelThere is a real, burning need to name and shame libel lawyers who succumb to working with pond life, such as Saudi financiers of terrorism or extreme Islamist groups. Libel tourism - "Libel Terrorism" perhaps more apt - in Britain is becoming a national embarrassment.

Lawyers often masquerading as "human rights" lawyers playing Britain's outdated libel laws to silence bona fide Western critics of the providers of the lifeblood - cash and representation - of the global cultural and terrorist Islamist insurgency.

Often such lawyers have Western clients who supply them with most of their fee-paying cases - such Western clients should be made to understand that the blood of 7/7 and 911 is on the hands of the so-called professionals they hire, no different from how blood is found all over conflict diamonds or lifelong agony is found all over pornographic image downloads of abused children.

By shutting off Western, non Islamist business to such lawyers and hounding the law firms hosting these treacherous libel cases, there can be some justice done to the victims of Islamic terrorist atrocities of recent times and those Wahhabi Saudis so misinformed as to think that they are above their Western foe and can play with Western justice - exposed for what they are, as they then shall be.

These "men" - these extreme Islamists - are an unfortunate drain on world oxygen, floating amidst a perverted, polluted ideology and hell-destined take on a religion they can never claim to represent. They deserve a prolonged whiff of burning London Underground rubber or several forced deep breaths of trade centre ash - not to be entertained by the courts of free lands whose historic freedom came through continually defeating such hegemonistic, lower-grade foe.

Morality Lost?

Imagine looking across the breakfast table at your wife and kids knowing that the corn flakes and orange juice consumed by them are dripping with the blood of innocents because you bought them with your terror-funding wages. Imagine driving your children to school in a luxury car which in itself is a fine-looking machine but - you well know - was bought with money reeking of innocent corpses and wrecked lives from some other corner of...

Another Flea off the Coat

A fugitive British militant linked to an alleged UK plot to use liquid bombs to blow up transatlantic airliners has been killed in Pakistan, reports say. Pakistani media said Rashid Rauf, born in Birmingham, was killed in a US air strike in North Waziristan, a haven for militants and the Taleban. Mr Rauf, on the run after escaping from a Pakistani jail, was alleged to have helped the group planning the attacks. Three men were convicted in the...

Al-Qaeda message condemns Obama

The second-in-command of Islamic militant network al-Qaeda has hit out at US President-elect Barack Obama. In a message purportedly from Ayman al-Zawahiri, the al-Qaeda deputy called Mr Obama a "house negro" - a demeaning term implying he served white people. Mr Obama's plan to bolster the US military presence in Afghanistan would fail, Zawahiri said. If genuine, the message would be the first acknowledgement by al-Qaeda of the president-elect's victory. The audio message appeared on militant websites. Zawahiri,...

Obamanomics

Obama's economic plan is a recipe for long-lasting disaster. Keep in mind that wrecking anything, as opposed to building things, requires very little time and effort. Obama's plan is deceptively attractive, while in reality it is a huge wrecking ball that will capsize the already listing ship of our economy. Here is a partial list of reasons why. Judge for yourself. Obama is proposing a trillion dollars in new spending. Where is he going to get the money,...

Just Criminal?

The recent British Government trend to not refer to "Islamic terrorism" or "Islamist terrorism" - instead referring merely to "criminals" and "criminal acts" - is either supremely clever or depressingly thoughtless depending upon the premise they started from. Islamist terrorism - a tidier phrase than Islamic terrorism - neatly describes the criminal act of terrorism carried out by Muslims with a political bent. With this phrase, there is no need for the epithet "extreme" before Islamist (meaning...

It can be so easy to forget that there is a massive difference - a great gulf called civilisation - between Islam and Muslims on the...

Saudi cleric favours one-eye veil

A Muslim cleric in Saudi Arabia has called on women to wear a full veil, or niqab, that reveals only one eye. Sheikh Muhammad al-Habadan said showing both eyes encouraged women to use eye make-up to look seductive. The question of how much of her face a woman should cover is a controversial topic in many Muslim societies. The niqab is more common in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, but women in much of the Muslim Middle East wear a headscarf...

CNN's king of the talk-show hosts and the icon of one of the major television networks, Larry King, hosted an interview on Wednesday, September 24, 2008 with the devil himself.  Many Iranians felt completely betrayed by Mr. King's line of questioning. They felt that Mr. King was missing key questions. I am not advocating a hostile interview here, but how could Mr. King allow Ahmadinejad to easily dance away. It seemed he was deliberately making Ahmadinejad...
